WHAT’S ONE THING MOTHERHOOD TAUGHT YOU THAT NOBODY PREPARED YOU FOR? And what’s one thing you wish you had more support with before motherhood? For me, it was sleep. 😂 I never realised how much I took a good night’s sleep for granted. I also used to be so spontaneous. I could just get up and go. Now, everything requires a little more planning, patience and consideration. And one thing I wish I had more of? More help to chase my dreams and goals while being a mother. Because motherhood is beautiful, but having dreams and ambitions doesn’t stop when you become a mom. These are the conversations we love having at MomCircleNG. 🤎 Real moms. Real experiences. 🤎 WHAT WE CARRY AS MOTHERS At MomCircleNG, we believe that sometimes, motherhood needs more than advice. Sometimes, you just need a place where you can say what you’re carrying — and know that someone else understands. In one of our reflections, a mom shared what she wished people understood about what she carried as a mother. And it reminded us why we created MomCircleNG in the first place. Because behind the smiles, the school runs, the meals, the work, the businesses, the “Mummy, mummy!” and everything in between, there are women carrying so much that often goes unseen. That’s why we make space for conversations like these. 🤎 In our WhatsApp community, we talk, share, laugh, ask questions and sometimes simply listen. Through our Web App, conversations, reflections, learning spaces, events and meetups, we create different ways for mothers to connect — not just as mothers, but as women navigating life together. Motherhood has humbled me in so many ways. 😂🤎 I used to be the woman who would say, “I will never leave my children with my help or nanny alone. Motherhood said, “Never say never.” 😂 As motherhood expands, you realise that sometimes you actually need the help. Sometimes you need to quickly run somewhere. Sometimes Dad isn’t available. Sometimes you simply need a few minutes to breathe, work, or get something done — and you need to know your children are safe and well cared for. And that’s okay. The important thing is making sure you have the right systems, trusted people and safe hands in place when you need to step away. Because motherhood will humble you in different ways, especially when you’re a mum trying to build, achieve and do so much. But it also makes you appreciate your village even more. 🤎 And speaking of beautiful moms and beautiful village moments… this gorgeous headband was gifted to me by a fellow mama, and I absolutely loved rocking it. 🥹🤎 Thank you to the mama who gave me this beautiful headband.
